Youth World Show Scholarships – Donate to the Endowment Today

History / Purpose
Starting with the 2015 AjPHA Youth World Championship Show, the APHF achieved the goal of having an all-scholarship show:

  • The intent was to increase memberships and financial stability for the APHA while providing a method for participants to receive a financial return on the funds spent during a youth show career, and to encourage youth to pursue their academic careers.
  • The program has expanded from 10 halter classes to every World Championship class.
  • The long-term goal is to establish a Youth World Show Scholarship endowment that will permanently support the Youth World Show. Make a donation to the endowment.
  • Money will be held in each exhibitor’s name each year they compete and earn scholarships. Scholarship funds must be applied for within two years of high school graduation and will be sent directly to the institution for tuition, books, housing, meals and lab fees only.

There are several ways to contribute to the 2018 AjPHA Youth World Show:

  • Youth World Show Endowment – BEST WAY!
  • All-Around Scholarships
  • Robyn Hanna Superior Sportsmanship Scholarship

To underwrite the scholarships for a specific class at the Youth World Show in perpetuity requires a gift of $35,000. The interest from the gift, calculated at 4%, supports the four scholarships in the class. The class donor’s name (in honor of person, ranch, horse, etc) is put on the scholarship check, announced during the awards and listed in the Paint Horse Journal World Show program. Classes can be underwritten by a donation on a first come-first serve basis. To underwrite additional classes, just multiply $35,000 by the number of classes you wish to underwrite.
