Swing Big: $49,500 on the line at the 2023 APHA World Show for ropers

Ropers, get ready to break fast and swing a big loop to score your share of nearly $50,000 offered exclusively for rope horses at the APHA World Championship Show and its concurrent American Rope Horse Futurity Association Cowtown Classic Rope Horse Futurity.

Paints are invited to compete in APHA World Championship classes and Chrome Cash jackpots, but bring all your roping buddies because the ARHFA Cowtown Classic is open to all breeds—and it’s your No. 1 opportunity to get in the John Justin Arena before the ARHFA World Championships in October.

APHA World Championship roping classes take place July 7, along with the Timed Team Roping Sweepstakes and the ARHFA 4-Year-Old Heading Pre-Futurity; then we’re back on July 8 & 9 with the ARHFA Team Roping events: the 4-Year-Old Heeling Pre-Futurity; the 4-, 5- & 6-Year-Old Heading & Heeling Futurities; and the Non-Pro Heading & Heeling. ARHFA events combine judged and timed criteria to identify the world’s most talented young rope horses. It’s designed to showcase the ability of 4-, 5- and 6-year-old rope horses to make runs executed with the precision of a show horse and the smooth speed of top timed-event contenders.

Online entries for APHA classes and added-money events open in April at apha.com/worldshow. Entries are accepted until 5 p.m. the day before classes take place, but get the best rates by pre-entering by May 15.  Cowtown Classic entries will open in mid-June.
