Multiple Paint stallions recently received NRHA achievement honors from the National Reining Horse Association.

NRHA Hall of Fame

Gunnatrashya, a 2006 sorrel solid stallion by Colonels Smokingun and out of Natrasha, was inducted into the National Reining Horse Association Hall of Fame on November 29.

He was the 2009 NRHA Futurity and 2010 NRHA Derby champion with Shawn Flarida. Altogether, Gunnatrashya earned nearly $220,000 in the show pen. As a sire, Gunnatrashya has 17 offspring that have each earned over $100,000. He reached the elite NRHA $10 Million Sire mark in September 2023 and has sired three of the past four NRHA Level 4 Open Futurity champions, according to NRHA. Arcese Quarter Horses USA of Weatherford, Texas.

Millionaire Sires

Inferno Sixty Six (pictured at top) reached NRHA $2 Million Sire status in August 2023. That came after son Inferno Thirty Five won The Invitational Open Futurity at the Tulsa Reining Classic. Owned by Red Junction Production LLC of Aubrey, Texas, Inferno Sixty Six is a 2012 sorrel overo stallion by Gunnatrashya and out of Snip O Gun (QH). Inferno Sixty Six earned more than $200,000 himself in the show pen with Franco Bertolani before retiring to the breeding barn. With only three foal crops in the show pen, Inferno Sixty Six already has nine offspring that have earned more than $50,000 each.

HF Mobster

In September 2023, HF Mobster ascended to Million Dollar Sire status. Heritage Farms and Silver Spurs Equine of Ogden, Utah, own the 2008 buckskin solid stallion. HF Mobster is by Colonels Smokingun and out of Dun Its Black Gold (QH).

Shown by Jordan Larson, “Mobster” earned more than $120,000 in lifetime earnings. That included being part of the gold medal-winning Team USA at the 2014 World Equestrian Games in Normandy, France. Offspring Mizzen Mobster won the Level 4 and Level 2 Big Sky Reining Classic Derby Open reserve championships in September 2023, pushing Mobster over the mark to become an NRHA Million Dollar Sire.

Spooks Gotta Whiz

Spooks Gotta Whiz continues to rack up NRHA achievement honors, and he recently crossed the $6 Million Sire mark in October 2023. The 2007 bay overo stallion is owned by Michell Ann Kimball of Collinsville, Texas. He too was an individual and team gold medal winner for Team USA at the 2014 World Equestrian Games. The stallion has more than $345,000 in NRHA lifetime earnings, which included winning the 2010 NRHA Open Futurity with Jordan Larson and the 2012 NRHA Open Derby and NRBC Open Derby titles with Shawn Flarida. He has 475 NRHA money-earning offspring.
