The Yellow Rose Futurity moves to the WCHA Breeders Championship Futurity & APHA World Show

Like many other events in 2020, The Yellow Rose Futurity  has seen its fair share of postponements; it was originally scheduled to take place in conjunction with the Pinto World Championship in Tulsa. After the cancellation of the PWC, the Yellow Rose Futurity will now take place with the WCHA Breeders Championship Futurity. The show dates will be September 24–27 at Will Rogers Equestrian Center, in conjunction with the American Paint Horse Association  World Championship Show and WCHA Big Money Futurities.

Horses of ALL BREEDS and COLORS are eligible to compete in Yearling and 2-Year-Old halter classes. Furthermore, so that competitors do not have to show multiple times the yearling classes will be held within the WCHA Breeders Futurity Classes. However, the 2-Year-Old classes will be stand-alone classes. To be eligible to compete in the YRF, horses must first be nominated into the WCHA Breeders Program and sired by a stallion nominated into the YRF Program. It is not too late for stallions to enroll at the $200 original nomination fee.

By moving the YRF classes in with the WCHA Breeders and Big Money Futurities competitors with 2-year-old halter entries will now have two futurities to compete rather than just in the Big Money Futurity! For 2-year-olds that have not been nominated yet that were not eligible for the Big Money Futurity, you can nominate at $100 rate until July 1. Open, Non-Pro & Youth competitors with WCHA memberships are eligible to compete in the YRF.

Because so many other entry fees are due in June and July, the first option to enter the Yellow Rose Futurity isn’t due until August 1, entry forms will be posted soon to the WCHA website, conformationhorse.com. Watch for notification via the WCHA Facebook page and future newsletters.

In other exciting news, we are working to include Youth Halter classes during the 2020 APHA World Show/WCHA Breeders Futurity – scheduling within the APHA Youth World Show will be announced soon.
