APHA recently released a virtual program series for Youth Paint Horse enthusiasts, and we are excited to announce Markel Insurance as the program’s sponsor. Between the prepared speech, hippology, and horse bowl contests, Markel Insurance will be awarding $3,000 in scholarships!
Kicking off the series is the Markel Virtual Prepared Speech Contest, which will be April 12-16, 2021. The contest topic will be released on Friday, April 2nd giving contestants two weeks to prepare and turn in their speeches. There are two age divisions, 13 & Under and 14-19, and each age division winner will receive a $500 scholarship. Plus, the contest will be FREE for all AjPHA members! The Markel Virtual Hippology Contest will be July 26-30, 2021 and the Markel Virtual Horse Bowl Contest will be October 11-15, 2021. The contest teams will consist of four AjPHA members and the team winner from each contest will take home $1000 in scholarships ($250 for each team member). More information on these contest rules will be posted closer to the virtual event date.
