Farnam gives barrel racers 5,000 more reasons to run American Paint Horses

Already a supporter of fast, talented horses and the Paint Barrel Racing Incentive Program, APHA Corporate Partner Farnam Horse Products is taking their support to a new level, generously donating $5,000 worth of Farnam prize packages to Paint barrel racers in 2014. This comes in addition to their support of the $3,000 Farnam Bonus awarded at the PBRIP Barrel Racing Sweepstakes at the APHA World Championship Show, which takes place November 5–15 in Fort Worth.

Farnam prize packages will be awarded to the PBRIP overall fastest time at 25 PBRIP-approved events in 2014; the first was awarded at the May 10 Keystone Barrel Classic in Hamburg, Pennsylvania. Each prize package is valued at $200 and includes the following Farnam products: Horseshoer’s Secret Hoof Supplement Concentrate 3.75 lbs., Next Level Performance Equine Joint Pellets 3.75 lbs., Vetrolin Bath 32 oz., Vetrolin Detangler, Vetrolin Shine 32 oz., Vetrolin Liniment Gel with Hyaluronic Acid and Endure Sweat-Resistant Fly Spray 32 oz.

The company will also continue to award a Farnam Bonus check to the PBRIP-enrolled exhibitor clocking the fastest time overall in the PBRIP Sweepstakes classes at the APHA World Show. A continuation of their support of last year’s inaugural event, the Farnam Bonus is up for grabs by the single fastest overall exhibitor riding a Regular Registry or Solid Paint-Bred Paint in the respective PBRIP sweepstakes class at the 2014 APHA World Show.

Farnam is not the only APHA Corporate Partner that has increased its support to include PBRIP. Hart Trailers, the official trailer of APHA, is offering one-year’s use of a “Short-Go Series” trailer to the No. 1 Paint Barrel Racing Incentive Program point-earning horse in 2014. The Short-Go model is a single-axle, 14-foot-long gooseneck trailer perfect for trips to the vet, day trips to the trail, barrel races, team ropings and rodeos.

The PBRIP made its debut in 2013 and was designed to bridge the gap between APHA and barrel racers who run registered Paint Horses, making it easier for these speed-enthusiasts to be involved in the association without having to attend traditional breed shows.

Incentives and/or PBRIP sidepots for registered Paint Horses and their PBRIP-enrolled riders at selected barrel races are provided by APHA, event producers, generous sponsors and funds collected through the APHA/PBRIP Stallion Service Auction.

The live stallion service auction ended February 1; however, several breedings to Paint horse stallions are still available through June 1. For more information or to purchase a breeding please visit pbrip.com or contact Karen Utecht at (817) 222-6444.
