Three new Gold Breeders’ Futurity classes are on tap for the 2022 APHA/WCHA Halter Million show, taking place at Will Rogers Memorial Center September 24-October 2. These new classes allow 2-year-old stallions, mares and geldings to be shown in their respective classes another year as part of the Breeders’ Futurity; previously, Breeders’ Futurity halter classes were capped at yearling-age events.
APHA Director of Breeders’ Trust/Breeders’ Futurity Matt Arias says this addition provides another class for Gold-eligible horses to potentially earn payouts. Last year, the Gold Breeders’ Futurity classes paid out more than $108,000.
