Chrome Cash kicks off at the 2020 Bonanza NCHA Cutting with nearly $5,000 offered to Paints

Paint Horses competed for nearly $5,000 at the 2020 Bonanza NCHA Cutting in Belton, Texas—this was the inaugural event for APHA’s new Chrome Cash program, which provides cash payouts to Paints at participating National Cutting Horse Association and National Reined Cow Horse Association Aged Events.

4-Year-Old Open Intermediate Winner Shady Lil Smooth

The Chrome Cash program is a class-within-a-class format at approved events, and only registered APHA horses (or those who have registrations pending) can enter the incentive classes. Eleven Paints took advantage of this first events at the Bonanza—congratulations to our winners:

4-Year-Old Open

  1. Buonvino [pending], a 2016 red roan overo gelding by Metallic Cat (QH) x Never Reylinquish (QH): Owned by Billy  Wolf, ridden by Beau  Galyean—$1,549.67
  2. Justa Girl Named Sue [pending], a 2016 red roan overo mare by Metallic Cat (QH) x Some Like It Hott (QH): Owned by Ellen Carter, ridden by Rodrigo Taboga—$1,205.30
  3. Light Mom Do [pending], a 2016 sorrel overo mare by Light N Lena (QH) x Cat Mom Do (QH): Owned by Darren Blanton, ridden by Grant Setnicka—$688.74

4-Year-Old Intermediate Open

  1. Shady Lil Smooth [pending], a 2016 sorrel overo gelding by Smooth As A Cat (QH) x Shady Lil Pepto (QH): Owned by Fazenda Barrinha Corp., ridden by Armando Costa Neto—$1,291.39
