Cash In: Platinum Breeders’ Futurity yearling nomination is now easier than ever for 2023

Self-nominate your yearling for Platinum Breeders’ Futurity classes and score a piece of the huge purses up for grabs in these premier halter events. As long as the yearling is sired by a Platinum-participating stallion, he can be nominated to participate in Platinum classes as a yearling. This takes the place of the Platinum mare nomination previously required for yearling eligibility.

This modification makes it easier and more efficient for the owner of the yearling to self-nominate the horse for Platinum competition in the yearling year, and eliminates the need to track down the dam owner for a mare nomination.

“This makes the process much more streamlined for owners of yearlings. They can now nominate their horse without having to complete any waivers from the dam owner,” Director of Breeders’ Trust/Breeders’ Futurity Matt Arias said.

Weanlings still require a dam nomination in the foaling year to be eligible to enter and compete in Platinum Breeders’ Futurity classes.

Platinum Breeders’ Futurity purses have increased every year for the last five years. At the 2022 APHA/WCHA Halter Million, over $317,000 in payouts were paid in the Platinum Breeders’ Futurity alone! Don’t miss out in 2023—make your weanlings and yearlings eligible for Platinum payouts by submitting your nomination annually.

The 2023 Platinum Nomination forms will be available on January 1, 2023.

Nominate by February 15 for the best rates.
