Apply to be a 2023 APHA Star

Are you a college junior, senior or recent grad who loves horses and is looking for an opportunity to work alongside some of the most connected individuals in the business? Look no further—apply for an APHA Star internship with the American Paint Horse Association! APHA is looking for up-and-coming stars to participate in its 2023 program in Fort Worth, Texas.

As the world’s second-largest international equine breed association, APHA provides real-world experiences for our Stars. You’ll be immersed in the APHA culture, both in the office and at its premier horse shows: the APHA World Championship Show (summer) and the Halter Million (fall). APHA provides opportunities in the performance, marketing and publications departments, but the learning doesn’t stop there. Interns are able to explore and gain hands-on knowledge about all aspects of the association.

But don’t take it from us. Check out what our latest class had to say about their experience:

“I had an amazing time during my internship with APHA! It was a friendly atmosphere, and I made many great connections within the association. I gained a lot of knowledge and hands-on experience in how a breed association operates that will help me be successful in the equine community.” –Daeleigh Patridge, Performance intern

“The Summer 2022 internship was an amazing experience from start to finish. Everyone at APHA was so kind and helpful. I received so much knowledge and hands-on experience during my time at APHA. The internship truly helped me get a feel for where I want to be in the equine world after I graduate.” –Amanda Kresta, Performance intern

“The APHA internship gave me valuable insight into the behind-the-scenes work of one of the largest breed registries in the world. I learned so much about marketing, publishing articles and spreading awareness about the Paint Horse. The connections I made during my internship will last a lifetime and provide excellent opportunities in the future” –Brooke Chevalier, Marketing intern

“Looking back, my time at APHA will always be something I cherish. What I enjoyed the most was getting to meet and speak with members at the World Championship Show and hear their stories. From the staff I interned under to the members that make the association what it is, the APHA is an exceptional place to learn, and I will always be grateful for the opportunity to be a part of it.” –Josie Fladager, Publications intern
