2021 Chrome/APHA Member Model Search Winners Announced

Paint Horses and their people are catching attention once again. Two lucky APHA members get to stand in front of the camera for Chrome as winners of the 2021 Chrome/APHA Member Model Search—congratulations to  our grand-prize winners of the 2021 Chrome/APHA Member Model Search are Blake Murray from Idaho and Brittany Weckman from Tennessee.

APHA’s award-winning Western lifestyle magazine and the official magazine of Mule Alley in the Fort Worth Stockyards, Chrome, highlights two equestrians who are part of the APHA family. These lucky winners will headline Chrome’s Winter Fashion issue. Photographers and art directors from Chrome managed to sort the entries down to the Top 12 cowgirls and cowboys, and more than 1,500 public votes crowned our two winners.

Blake Murray

Blake credits his uniqueness to his desire and passion for the equestrian community. His connection to the Paint Horse community allows him to grow into the personal identity that he associates himself with.

“After numerous moves and academic changes throughout my life, the one thing that made me stand out above the crowd (besides my height) is my love for horses— although it took me to my late teens for me to acknowledge the impact it had on my personality,” Blake said. “This realization has also allowed me to branch out and become the person I am today.”

Brittany Weckman

Brittany began her showing career with APHA when she was a teenager living in Minnesota. After a break to spend time with her growing children, she has hit the show ring again—this time along with her middle daughter, who is starting in lead line classes in 2021.

“Owning and showing horses has been amazing!” Brittany said. “I’ve met so many wonderful people over the past two decades, both in the Midwest and now in Tennessee, where I reside with my husband and three kids.”

Blake and Brittany are invited to star in Chrome’s winter fashion feature as the 2021 Chrome/APHA Member Model Search winners.

Chrome also congratulates the 2021 Top 12 finalists (listed below), along with everyone who entered and voted in this contest—we love meeting and showcasing the stunning APHA members who make up the community of Paint Horse lovers.

Chrome is mailed to all current APHA members in North America, and available digitally to all members worldwide. Make sure your membership is current so you can receive this special issue.
