Youth scholarships available from WCHA

The World Conformation Horse Association is proud to be able to offer several academic scholarships for the 2020-2021 academic year.

“We are honored to be able to offer scholarships for the upcoming school year. In 2019, the WCHA Foundation awarded nine scholarships to deserving youth with an interest in conformation horses,” WCHA Executive Director Don Falcon said.

To be in consideration for a scholarship, students must be a member of WCHA, ($25 youth membership fee can be purchased with application), is a graduating high school senior (or apply within two years of graduation), pass a college entrance examination and provide three letters of reference and submit an essay explaining their educational plans and goals. This essay should specifically address how you feel your academic career will provide you with an opportunity to better serve the halter industry, either through a trade school or collegiate academic program. Applicants must provide a photograph and a signed release form in the event they are awarded a scholarship.

The deadline to submit a scholarship application is August 15. For additional qualifications, guidelines or to preview previous recipients of WCHA academic Scholarships, please visit the WCHA Foundation page at conformationhorse.com/foundation.
