The World Conformation Horse Association will partner with the American Paint Horse Association to offer two Weanling Halter Futurities for Non-Pro exhibitors at the 2019 APHA Western National Championship Show, October 19, at South Point Casino and Equestrian Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Two Non-Pro Futurity classes, one class for Weanling Fillies and one for Weanling Colts/Geldings will be offered. Entries must be registered with APHA but can be sired by any stallion. Owners and exhibitors must be current WCHA and APHA members to compete; memberships can be purchased when entering your horses. The champion of each class will win a beautiful silver show halter provided by Kathy’s Show Equipment. In addition to 100% of entry fees going back into the purse, an added $1,000 for each class will be up for grabs.

You have two options to enter the WCHA classes:

Enter by September 20, 2019 for $300, or by 5 p.m. the night before the class for $400. Find entry forms and show information at apha.com/western-national-show.

“We are excited to be a part of the inaugural Western National Championship and to support our Paint Horse members and breeders. This APHA event will be a great event, well managed with great awards and will only get bigger in years to come,” said WCHA Executive Director Don Falcon. “Opportunities to build our grassroots membership go hand-in-hand with the forward movement WCHA is working to achieve by supporting other established futurities across the country.”

In 2019, WCHA will have a presence at these additional events this summer and fall:

  • Go for the Gold Futurity – All-Breed Weanling Futurity for Non-Pro exhibitors
  • East Coast Futurity – All-Breed Futurity Weanling Futurity open to any exhibitor
  • Western National Championship – APHA-registered weanling horses for Non-Pro exhibitors
  • Best in the West Futurity – All-Breed Weanling Futurity open to any exhibitor
All the above futurities are open to horses sired by any stallion, not just the stallions enrolled in the WCHA Breeders Program. Visit each individual event website to download entry forms; WCHA memberships are available at each event so that everyone can participate.
