Jacki and Randy Walker of Roaring Spring, Pennsylvania, recently took advantage of this APHA Xtras discount.
“We live in a mostly wooded area surrounded by Pennsylvania State Game Lands,” said Jacki. “My husband built me a small barn, a small outdoor practice riding ring, and helps maintain a few acres of pasture. He contributes a great deal to my horse habit, although he hasn’t caught the ‘horse bug’ himself.”
A horse lover since she was three, Jacki always wanted an overo Paint, a dream realized 18 years ago when her Quarter Horse mare foaled Incredible Sky Velvet.
“ ‘Sky’ started my obsession with showing Paint Horses at breed-level shows,” Jacki said. “Currently, I own two beautiful Paint Horses: ‘Coda’ (Sonfa Dirty Flirt), a 2017 buckskin overo gelding, and ‘Jade’ (Coosas Velvet Dream), a 2013 solid black mare. Jade is my heart horse—brains and beauty. At my age, one learns to appreciate a steady, trusty horse. She is a willing and fast learner. Coda seems to be following in her footsteps with a great mind and learning ability.”

“We have owned three RAM trucks starting with a 1998 which was later upgraded to a 2014 RAM 2500 to pull my older-model horse trailer,” Jacki said. “Since I usually travel alone to other states to compete, we wanted a newer model for safety. Shortly after purchasing the 2500 Ram, I upgraded my horse trailer to one with a living quarters, which required a bigger truck.

“I called the phone number, gave my information and they emailed the certificate to me within a day or two. Simple and fast,” she said.

“We have dealt with them for years and always have a pleasant experience,” said Jacki. “Kudos to Steve Kachman, our sales consultant at the dealership, who assisted us and found the exact color and extras we wanted. After all, we must color coordinate the truck and trailer, right?”
That one little phone called netted the Walkers big savings.
“We saved $1,023.92 using the APHA Xtras Program when we purchased the 2018 RAM 3500,” Jacki said—not a bad return on her investment of $45 in an APHA membership!
