Nominations are open for APHA state directors now through August 15. An individual can be nominated either from a regional club or by themselves or another individual.
Representing their home areas, APHA state directors help deciding and direct association policy and serve a three-year term. APHA has about 110-120 state directors total, including those representing international areas.
Every member in good standing as of September 1 is eligible to vote for their area director(s); voting opens after September 15 and closes October 15. The State Directors Nominating Committee consists of six members appointed by APHA President Melanie Cox-Dayhuff, and they help review applicants and determine the ballot nominees.
