Nearly $400,000 paid out to Breeders’ Trust earners for 2021

Checks have been mailed to participating owners, nominators and subscribers for their horses’ 2021 Breeders’ Trust payout earnings—payouts were issued and mailed March 18, with a per-point value of $8.36. That’s the highest per-point value since 2013, with the exception of the 2020 anomaly due to COVID cancellations. More than $394,000 in total payouts were realized in 2021.

APHA’s Breeders’ Trust continues to generate payouts to all who play a factor in the life of a foal: the stallion subscriber, breeder and owner.

Congratulations to all 2021 Breeders’ Trust earners, including the Leading Sire and Top Earner:

Breeders’ Trust 2021 Leading Sire: Zippos Sensation
1993 sorrel overo stallion by Zippo Pine Bar (QH) and out of Satin N Lace
Breeder: Joe Bachmuth, Cullman, Alabama
Owner: Simons Show Horses LLC, Aubrey, Texas

Owned by the Simons family since he was a yearling, Zippos Sensation has been subscribed to the Breeders’ Trust every year since the program’s inception. He has been the No. 1 Breeders’ Trust Leading Sire for 21 consecutive years. In 2021, “Zippo” had 64 foals earn 3,813 eligible points—that translates to Breeders’ Trust earnings worth $31,877.47. Of the 1,047 Zippo foals registered with APHA, 699 are nominated to the Breeders’ Trust.

Breeders’ Trust Leading Earner: Even More Sensational
2013 bay overo gelding by Zippos Sensation and out of Good Enchantment (QH)
