Checks have been mailed to participating owners, nominators and subscribers for their horses’ 2021 Breeders’ Trust payout earnings—payouts were issued and mailed March 18, with a per-point value of $8.36. That’s the highest per-point value since 2013, with the exception of the 2020 anomaly due to COVID cancellations. More than $394,000 in total payouts were realized in 2021.
APHA’s Breeders’ Trust continues to generate payouts to all who play a factor in the life of a foal: the stallion subscriber, breeder and owner.

He has been the No. 1 Breeders’ Trust Leading Sire for 21 consecutive years. In 2021, “Zippo” had 64 foals earn 3,813 eligible points—that translates to Breeders’ Trust earnings worth $31,877.47. Of the 1,047 Zippo foals registered with APHA, 699 are nominated to the Breeders’ Trust.

The gelding also captured the No. 1 spot on the 2021 Novice Amateur Top 20 list with Stephanie. “Dillon” also was No. 3 on the Amateur Top 20 list with Stephanie, No. 3 on the Open Top 20 list, and No. 14 on the Youth 13 & Under Top 20 list with Peytyn Goodin.
