This fall, APHA partnered with John Deere to add a little extra incentive for joining or renewing an APHA membership. Any person who renewed or signed up for a regular or life membership between September 11 and October 7, 2020, was automatically entered to win a John Deere Gator utility vehicle valued at $7,399.
The winner was randomly selected and APHA is pleased to announce that longtime member Joan Atkins of Canton, Missouri, is the big winner.
Joan, pictured above with A Secret Rolex JMK, has been a faithful APHA member and Paint breeder since 1998. She and her husband, also a member and Paint enthusiast, enjoy working cattle and trail riding on their two farms, and use the recreational riding portion of the PAC program to help start their young horses.
When Joan renewed her membership, she had no idea just how much return she’d get on her investment.
“Wow, it’s so exciting and unbelievable!” Joan said. “I have literally never won more than about $10 my whole life. We will use the Gator to do daily feeding chores, haul hay and grain to our many horses, and to run out through the pastures to check on the stock. For fun, it will be used to pull the Smarty steer when my husband practices roping and tracking, and it will be an artistic ensemble—because Smarty is green, too.
