Intermediate division expands for 2024 APHA World Show

Intermediate division champion and reserve champion Gist trophy buckles are back for the 2024 APHA World Championship Show, doubling some exhibitors’ chances to snag the coveted hardware. This year, APHA is offering 95 Intermediate division opportunities inside of their main World Championship classes.

New for 2024 are Intermediate division opportunities in Youth ranch and performance halter, Amateur and Open in-hand events, and slates of Amateur and Open Solid Paint-Bred events. Check out the full list below!

Intermediate division classes must be entered concurrent with the regular class by 5 p.m. the day before the class takes place.

The APHA World Championship Show takes place June 21-July 7, 2024, in Fort Worth, Texas.

Are you Intermediate division eligible?

If you answer “no” to the following questions, you’re likely eligible to enter your class’s Intermediate division at the APHA World Show:

  • Have you placed in the Top 2 at the APHA World Show, AQHA World Show, NSBA World Show or All American Quarter Horse Congress within the last five years in the particular class you’d like to enter (regardless of division)?
    • This includes all classes in all divisions, excluding Novice, Intermediate division, Limited division and Walk-Trot divisions (unless you’re entering an Intermediate Walk-Trot class) and AQHA Level 1.
    • For longe line, both hunter and Western apply.
  • Are you ineligible for the corresponding NSBA Limited division?
