Diane Alves was elected to serve as the 2024 APHA President-Elect in a historic Board of Directors vote on May 23. This is the first opportunity for the APHA Board of Directors to elect a candidate to fill the position based on its revised governance structure.
Current board members who are not officers were eligible for nomination to fill the vacancy. Then, voting-eligible board members cast ballots for their candidate of choice in accordance with the By-Law procedures adopted in March 2020. Read more about the by-laws in the APHA Rule Book.
