Cutting, fencing and boxing all-breed events coming to AjPHA Youth World Show

Calling all cattlemen! Whether you enjoy a clean cut or the thrill of running down the fence, you’ll want to clear your calendar: two can’t-miss events are coming to Will Rogers Memorial Center July 6–9. Taking place in conjunction with the 2017 AjPHA Youth World Championship Show, the Cowtown Cutting and Cowtown Fencing & Boxing Challenge are all-breed events with serious payouts. More than $9,000 is added across the two events, and colorful cow horses and cutters will have a shot at exclusive Paint awards.

Cowtown Fence & Boxing Challenge—July 6–7

  • Classes
    • Fence 4-D Challenge – $2,000 added
    • Boxing 4-D Challenge – $2,000 added
    • This event also counts toward qualifying for the 2018 APHA World Championship Show; qualifying for 2018 takes place June 1, 2017–May 31, 2018.
  • Payouts & Awards
    • Paid on two-day average – divisional payout with 4 divisions (4-D)
    • Each D pays equally – $500 added to each division
    • Special awards presented to the high-scoring Paint Horse in each class overall.
  • Entries
    • Entry deadline is June 30 by 5 p.m.; additional entries will be accepted after June 30, but fresh cattle are not guaranteed
    • $150 entry fee/run ($50 jackpotted, $50 cattle charge, $50 office charge)
    • Enter as many times as you like
    • Reining paid warmups available

ACHA Cowtown Cutting—July 8–9

Watt Arena, Fort Worth, Texas

  • One-Judge Show Each Day
    • Saturday, July 8—Classes Start at 9 a.m.
    • Sunday, July 9—Classes Start at 8 a.m.
    • Each day counts for 1 show towards the two required shows for the 2018 APHA Open/Amateur World Show qualification; compete on both days to finish out your 2018 qualification!
    • Cutting Shows Approved for 2017 APHA World Show Qualifying
  • Awards:
    • $5,150 Added
    • Circuit awards in each class – Sponsored by APHA & ACHA / High-Point Paint Horse circuit awards in each class
    • Individual class awards
  • Entry Deadline
    • June 30 by 5 p.m.
    • Add-On Entries—Entries will be accepted after June 30, but additional cattle will not be added
