APHA members save more at Office Depot/OfficeMax

Looking for an easy way to stretch your budget a little bit further? Here’s a simple tip. Put your APHA membership to work and save money at Office Depot and OfficeMax on everything you need from office and school supplies to computers, furniture, print and copy services and much, much more.

Thanks to APHA Xtras, your savings could cover the cost of your APHA membership and then some. Just ask Diane Alves of Ballico, California, a life-long Paint Horse enthusiast who currently serves as an APHA director and secretary of the San Joaquin Paint Horse Club.

“I use the Xtras with Office Depot/OfficeMax for copies of our show premium,” Diane explained. “I have used the discount several times in the past and would never make pattern books or premium copies without it. In this particular case, I saved $85.12! The total was just under $20 to make 75 copies of our double-sided, nine-page premium book.”

Shop online and pick up in store or enjoy free delivery on qualifying orders.

The savings go way beyond printing. APHA members can save up to 80 percent off more than 93,000 products including office supplies, paper, ink, toner, technology and even cleaning products, whether you shop online or at your local store.

“Obtaining the member discount is a piece of cake,” Diane said. “I usually order online via an email directly to the store where I plan to pick up the copies. When I email, I give them the account number but also have the printed ‘card’ from the APHA website with me for verification when picking up the copies.”

In the midst of the peach and almond groves of Central California, Diane, the daughter of APHA Hall of Fame inductees Harvey and Linda Jones, and her husband, Brian, raise Paints that can halter and perform. When she’s not showing young horses by their stallion Wildfire Candy, Diane is hard at work making APHA shows affordable for everyone.

“Our club is very family oriented, and we try to put shows on that not only encourage new members but also make it fun for folks to attend. With today’s economy—and the number of things available for people to spend money on—getting them to a show is part of the battle but keeping them coming back is really critical,” she explained.

Making sure costs stay low, and passing those savings on to exhibitors, is key to their success.

“All clubs should try to take advantage of the Xtras! It’s a great perk of being an APHA member,” Diane said.
