9 reasons to attend the 2019 APHA Youth World Championship Show

We are counting down the days until horse trailers begin rolling up to the Will Rogers Memorial Center for the 2019 APHA Youth World Championship Show. Although the pre-entry deadline has passed, there’s still time to register for the ultimate AjPHA showdown—if you need some motivation to turn in your entry, here are nine reasons to make it to the Youth World Show.

  1. Unlimited potential for success

Whether you show halter, roping, over-fences or Western pleasure, the Youth World Show provides endless opportunities for you and your Paint Horse to succeed. With a full slate of classes and divisions, you have a chance to compete against AjPHA’s best and win some spectacular prizes.

  1. Celebrate at the AjPHA Awards Banquet

What better way to start the Youth World Show than to celebrate your accomplishments from last year? This fun night recognizes top AjPHA exhibitors from 2018—make sure to get tickets to the AjPHA Awards Banquet, taking place on Thursday, June 27 at 7 p.m. Buy your tickets here.

  1. Team up for the Youth Team Tournament

AjPHA clubs are invited to submit teams for the annual Youth Team Tournament. Comprised of three elements (performance classes, a knowledge relay and a hands-on hippology test), Youth of all ages go head-to-head for great prizes. With teams up to 20 AjPHA members, this is perfect way to bond with friends! Whether you’re a participant or watching from the audience, this event is a definite highlight of the Youth World Show.

  1. Show your smarts at the Youth World Show judging contest

Put your horse judging skills to the test and enter the Youth World Championship Horse Judging Contest. With top-notch live judging and stellar prizes, this contest is one you’ll want to attend! Teams & individuals are invited to enter.

  1. Scholarships, cash and prizes, oh my!

Last year, exhibitors at the Youth World Show won more than $250,000 in cash and prizes, including $130,000 in scholarships. Those prizes aren’t limited to the Top Two winners, either—scholarships are paid out through third place in all world championships, with select classes paying to more placings. Random-draw $150 scholarships further sweeten the pot … you never know if you’re going to win! If that’s not enough, a variety of prizes are awarded in each class, including beautiful Gist Silversmith’s trophy buckles, Cinch jackets and prizes from SmartPak, Schneiders, LubriSyn and more. It’s time to get awarded for all the practice and work that you put in with your Paint Horse!

  1. Explore Fort Worth

Now the 13th largest city in America, Fort Worth features an endless list of things to do during your free time at the Youth World Show. Visit the future of home of APHA’s headquarters in the Fort Worth Stockyards or take a look around the National Cowgirl Hall of Fame and Museum. Whatever you are in the mood for, Fort Worth has something for you to enjoy during your time here. Great food, cool vibes and awesome activities—day or night!

  1. Celebrate the Fourth of July with your American Paint Horse

No one celebrates the Independence Day quite like APHA at the Youth World Show. Wear some red, white and blue and participate in a day full of competition and fireworks. For those who hail from the Great White North, celebrate Canada Day on July 1 at the Youth World Show with your red and white.

  1. Create life-long memories

Nothing quite compares to the experience of going to the Youth World Show. You’ll form new friendships, bond with your Paint Horse and make memories that’ll last a lifetime. It truly is an irreplaceable experience.

  1. Eat the best baked potatoes and delicious cinnamon rolls

Need we say more? It’s simply something you MUST experience at the Youth World Show!
