30+ new classes to be offered at 2022 APHA World Show

Expanded solid Paint-bred and ranch event classes are among more than 30 class additions planned for the 2022 APHA World Championship Show. More than $1.25 million in cash and prizes will be awarded at the premier event, taking place June 24-July 10 at the Will Rogers Memorial Center in Fort Worth, Texas.

The new classes are the result of growth in those areas based on previous years’ entries, designed to offer more options for exhibitors and horses. Highlights include more Youth and solid Paint-bred ranch events, ranch conformation, solid Paint-bred performance halter, splitting Junior and Senior Ranch Trail, and eight new Breeders’ Futurity classes.

The Board of Directors also authorized removal of several World Show classes with historically low entry numbers (less than six average entries over the last three years), based on the World Show Class Cancellation Policy.

  • Youth Goat Tying 13 & Under (3 average entries for last 3 years)
  • Youth Goat Tying 18 & Under (3 average entries for last 3 years)

  • Youth Jumping (2 average entries for last 3 years)
  • Jumping (1 average entry for last 3 years)
  • Amateur Jumping (2 average entries for last 3 years)
  • Youth Solid Paint-Bred Pole Bending (2 average entries for last 3 years)
  • Amateur Solid Paint-Bred Pole Bending (4 average entries for last 3 years)
  • Amateur Solid Paint-Bred Stake Race (4 average entries for last 3 years)
  • Youth Cutting (2 average entries for last 3 years)
  • Solid Paint-Bred Cutting (3 average entries for last 3 years)
  • Novice Amateur Cutting (1 average entry for last 3 years)
  • Parents Western Pleasure (5 average entries for last 3 years)
