2019 Great Lakes Paint Horse Championship taking place May 18-19

The Indiana Paint Horse Club is hosting the second Paint Horse Championship event of 2019 this weekend, May 18-19, in Cloverdale, Indiana.

APHA is sponsoring awards 15 classes at each Paint Horse Championship show, consisting of beautiful Gist Silversmiths buckles for first place and medallions for second-sixth place in each event. Show management has the opportunity to offer additional Paint Horse Championship classes, as well.

2019 Great Lakes Paint Horse Championship events include:

  • Open Hunter Under Saddle
  • Youth Hunter Under Saddle 18 & Under
  • Amateur Hunter Under Saddle All Ages
  • Solid Paint-Bred Hunter Under Saddle
  • Youth Hunt-Seat Equitation 18 & Under
  • Amateur Hunt-Seat Equitation All Ages
  • Open Yearling Longe Line
  • Amateur Stallions
  • Youth Geldings
  • Amateur Geldings
  • Youth Showmanship 18 & Under
  • Amateur Showmanship All Ages
  • Youth Mares
  • Amateur Mares
  • Youth Horsemanship 18 & Under
  • Open Western Pleasure
  • Amateur Horsemanship All Ages
  • Amateur Western Pleasure All Ages
  • Solid Paint-Bred Western Pleasure
  • Youth Western Pleasure 18 & Under
In 2019, to be eligible to compete in any Paint Horse Championship halter class in any division, an exhibitor cannot have placed in the Top Five in a halter class at an APHA World Championship Show within the last 10 years (2009-2018) or won a Paint Horse Championship halter class the previous year.

For performance classes, an exhibitor who has placed in the Top 10 in a performance class at an APHA World Championship Show within the last 10 years (2009-2018) or won a Paint Horse Championship performance class the previous year is not eligible to compete in any Paint Horse Championship performance class in any division.
