Josi Reed joins APHA as Director of Youth & Amateur Activities

Josi Reed has joined APHA as the association’s new Director of Youth & Amateur Activities. In this role, Josi will develop initiatives and direct the planning and implementation of activities that will grow the programs and enhance the Youth and Amateur member experience.

Originally from Southern Illinois, Josi currently lives in Okmulgee, Oklahoma. She completed her associate’s degree in agriculture at Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College and earned a bachelor’s degree in agricultural media and communication with a minor in animal science at West Texas A&M University. She also completed her master’s degree in agriculture at West Texas A&M University.

Upon graduation, she worked at Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College where she taught equine classes, served as head coach of the IHSA equestrian team and  assistant coach for the horse judging team, and stalling barn manager. Most recently, she has worked for An Equine Production, a horse show management company.

She grew up showing horses and doing competitive horse judging, both as a youth and while in college.
