Four fast ways to get 2017 off to a swift start

If your goals for the new year involve a speedy Paint Horse and some exciting competition, APHA’s got the perfect program for you. Not sure where to start? Here are four fast ways you can shift into high gear and fulfill your need for both color and speed.

If you love barrel racing …

And you love winning cash, then you’ll love APHA’s Ram Trucks Paint Barrel Racing Incentive Program (PBRIP). One of the fastest growing APHA programs, PBRIP brings the association to barrel racing events nationwide by adding money to the pot just for those enrolled in the program. Just last year, 567 APHA members took a shot at more than $60,000 in cash prizes with 124 PBRIP-approved events in 20 different states. Getting started in PBRIP is quick and easy. Just download the enrollment form or sign up right at a PBRIP-approved event for just $35 per year. Both the horse owner and rider must have current APHA memberships to participate. You’ll find everything you need to get started online—from news to coming events to results and more.

If the racetrack is where it’s at …

Then breeze on over to APHA’s racing website, where you’ll find everything from the latest racing news, a complete calendar of Paint racing, and information about how you can get in on the action—we’re talking about 291 races, 338 starters and an estimated gross purse of $3 million last year. The heart-pounding excitement begins with the first race of the season on March 10 with the Oklahoma Paint Futurity Trials with $50,000 in added money. It peaks at Paint racing’s richest event, the Speedhorse/Graham Paint & Appaloosa Futurity, featuring an estimated $300,000 purse. And it doesn’t finish until the running champions are crowned at the end of the year.

If you like to keep it closer to home …

Look no further than APHA’s popular Paint Alternative Competition (PAC) program. If APHA-approved shows are not in the cards this year, compete locally and get recognized nationally in 43 different PAC categories including barrel racing, games, pole bending, stakes race and 4-H timed events. Enroll your horse and you’ll be eligible to earn APHA credits, titles and great year-end awards like jackets, saddle pads and Gist belt buckles. Learn more and fast-track your enrollment at apha.com/programs/pac/.

If you want to reach new customers fast …
