The goal of this capital campaign is to generate funds to be used for three key initiatives surrounding APHA’s move to the Fort Worth Stockyards in 2018.
- Bronze Restoration and Relocation – The Amon Carter Foundation has provided a $125,000 grant to offset the costs of refurbishing and moving the “Legacy of Color,” large bronze statues depicting four American Paint Horses from their current location outside APHA headquarters to their new home outside APHA’s new headquarters in the Fort Worth Stockyards National Historic District in 2018. However, once they are moved to the high-traffic Stockyards, the bronzes will still need to be maintained on a quarterly basis, which will cost approximately $6,000 per year, and the Foundation is accepting additional donations to support their maintenance.
- Hall of Fame & Educational Outreach Center – Funds would offset the costs of developing a physical Hall of Fame & Educational Outreach Center in the lobby and mezzanine of the American Paint Horse Association’s new home in the Fort Worth Stockyards National Historic District. The estimated cost for a Hall of Fame & Educational Outreach Center including educational programming is an additional $1,850,000.
- Youth World Show Endowment – The completion of a $3,000,000 Youth World Show endowment will provide more than $100,000 in scholarship funds each year, allowing the future Youth World Shows to continue to be all-scholarship shows. By adding a scholarship goal to our capital campaign, we’re harnessing the energy of our headquarters move to support our Youth. In the end, we’ll have a new venue to introduce young people to Paint Horses, and an attractive avenue with which to reward their equine endeavors as they grow.
To donate to any of these initiatives, you can send a check payable to the American Paint Horse Foundation, 2800 Meacham Blvd., Fort Worth, TX 76137, or you can use a credit card and donate via our online gift form.
