2018 Paint Horse Championships continue in Cobleskill, New York

The Northeast Paint Horse Championship is heading to a new venue for 2018. This year, the show takes place over Memorial Day weekend, May 26–27, in conjunction with the Empire State Paint Horse Club’s Yankee Union POR Show in Cobleskill, New York, and is co-sponsored by the New England Paint Horse Club.

APHA is sponsoring awards for each show and will consist of beautiful Gist Silversmiths buckles for first place and medallions for second-sixth place in each event.

2018 Northeast Paint Horse Championship events are:

  • Open Color Class
  • Open Western Pleasure
  • Open Trail
  • Open Ranch Riding
  • Amateur Walk-Trot Showmanship
  • Amateur Walk-Trot Western Pleasure
  • Amateur Halter Mares
  • Amateur Halter Geldings
  • Amateur Showmanship
  • Amateur Hunter Under Saddle
  • Amateur Horsemanship
  • Youth Hunter Under Saddle
  • Youth Trail
  • Youth Horsemanship
  • Novice Amateur Ranch Pleasure

In 2018, to be eligible to compete in any Paint Horse Championship halter class in any division, an exhibitor cannot have placed in the Top 5 in a halter class at an APHA World Championship Show within the last 10 years (2009-2018) or won a Paint Horse Championship halter class the previous year.

For performance classes, an exhibitor who has placed in the Top 10 in a performance class at an APHA World Championship Show within the last 10 years (2009-2018) or won a Paint Horse Championship performance class the previous year is not eligible to compete in any Paint Horse Championship performance class in any division.
