The APHA World Championship Show and PBRIP Sweepstakes pre-entry deadline is May 15, 2026. World Show barrel racing classes take place June 19, and the PBRIP Sweepstakes is scheduled for Saturday, June 20 in Fort Worth, Texas.
This year, barrel racers kick off the entire show, as we run on Day 1 of the APHA 2026 World Championship Show.
New for 2026:
- World championship classes and PBRIP Sweepstakes run in the John Justin Arena.
- Barrel racers will be some of the first exhibitors on the grounds. Loading/unloading promises to be less congested than in the past.
- Barrel racing is the FIRST event taking place on the John Justin Arena ground, allowing optimal preparation for ideal footing.
- Details like holding pen layout and electronic eye placement will be set well in advance ensuring safe and optimum runs.
- Barrel racers will be first in line for professional World Show photography orders.
- PBRIP Sweepstakes money counts toward 2026 PBRIP Horse of the Year standings.

Last year, over 100 barrel racers clocked times in the PBRIP Barrel Racing Sweepstakes, the World Show’s largest class. In addition to $42,000 added guaranteed in the event’s purse, we’ve got extra added money for the Top 10 fastest horses foaled in Texas and for 4- and 5-year-old futurity runners. Earnings from the PBRIP Barrel Racing Sweepstakes now count for PBRIP year-end awards, too.
