Mike Hachtel joins NSBA Quarter Million Dollar Club

Mike Hachtel is the newest member of the National Snaffle Bit Association’s Quarter Million Dollar Club, signifying his prowess as a top-money earner in the association’s events.

Mike recently reached the milestone of winning more than $250,000 in lifetime NSBA earnings at the Madness in Wilmington, Ohio, in May. There, he earned eighth place in the Madness 3-Year-Old & Older Novice Horse Western Pleasure Slot class, earning $1,500 with SST Super Sport (QH), showing for Nettie Olsen, earning his place in the NSBA Quarter Million Dollar Club.

Mike HachtelA Markel/APHA Professional Horseman, Mike owns and operates Espuela Ranch in Collinsville, Texas. He has specialized in developing Western pleasure horses for more than 30 years. Mike has won numerous NSBA, APHA, ApHC world and futurity titles including world championships in the NSBA 3-Year-Old Color Western Pleasure and Color Senior Western Pleasure, plus wins in the March To The Arch Color Open Western Pleasure Futurity, APHA Gold Breeders’ Futurity 2-Year-Old and 3-Year-Old Western Pleasure futurities and the Limited Open division of the All American Quarter Horse Congress Masters 2-Year-Old Western Pleasure Futurity.

On his way to reaching the Quarter Million Dollar mark, Mike has shown such horses as Zippin With Ryhthm, Good Dividends, Hot Lips Cookie, Shieks Winning Colors, Sensational Lollipop, Just A Roan Ranger, Scenic Ocean Drive, Curb Ur Impulse, Red Solo Cup, Hide Your Crazy, A Jellybean Impulse, Impulsive Popstar, This Scene Is Taken, Scene It Eye To Eye, RR Cant Stop A Feelin, Rip Roarin Good, Best Lopin Legend, Alcohol Me Later, SST Fingerlickingood and Howdoyoulikemenow.

Mike will be recognized during the NSBA Honors Banquet during the 2026 NSBA World Championship Show and Breeders Championship Futurity in Tulsa, Oklahoma in August 2026.
