horseIQ Hippology Challenge

Overview

Purpose: The horseIQ Hippology Challenge promotes learning and curiosity by encouraging Youth to expand and showcase their knowledge of the horse industry

Looking for some friendly competition? The horseIQ Hippology Challenge tests your skills and knowledge of the horse industry for the chance to win some great prizes! Available for all Youth, this challenge covers a wide range of topics including identification, horse evolution, genetics, health, judging, nutrition and more!

Eligibility

To be eligible:

Contestants must be 18 years old or under as of January 1 of the current year
This contest is hosted on horseIQ. Each contestant must use their own horseIQ account to compete. To participate, you’ll need to create a free horseIQ account and enroll in the “horseIQ Hippology Challenge” course for $5.
New test sections open every two weeks beginning September 15. All sections must be completed by December 15. Each section can only be taken once.

Contest Structure

The horseIQ Hippology Challenge takes place September 15–December 15, with a new test section available every two weeks. All sections must be completed by December 15. Each section can only be taken once. Winners of each division are announced in mid-December after the closing date.

Test Section 1 opens September 15. New sections open every two weeks after that, with the last section opening December 1. Sections can be completed at any time once opened, but all must be completed by December 15 for the entry to be complete.
Testing takes place on horseIQ. A contestant must create a free horseIQ account and pay the $5 enrollment fee to access the contest. Each contestant must use their own horseIQ account.
Tests consist of six sections:
- Tack & Equipment
- Genetics, Reproduction & Evolution
- Colors, Anatomy & Patterns
- Feed & Nutrition
- Safety & Disease
- Judging & Conformation
Each test section displays a randomized set of 10 questions, so each contestant’s test is slightly different.
Tests may only be submitted once.

Overall placings are determined by adding the raw score from each test section.
