Four candidates named for 2027 NLDC consideration

Four candidates are moving forward for open-position consideration on the Nominating & Leadership Development Committee. APHA state directors will vote in February 2027 to fill two vacancies on the 2027 NLDC.

2027 NLDC Nominees are:

  • Don Beard, Cheyenne, Wyoming
  • Dora Gocze, Brande, Denmark
  • Amanda Palmer, Beverley Hills, Florida
  • Alison Umberger, Broad Run, Virginia

This is in addition to six members named for consideration for open spots on the 2027 APHA Board of Directors. Voting for both slates of candidates takes place at the APHA Leadership Gathering & Membership Meeting, scheduled for February 25–28, 2027, in Fort Worth, Texas.

The Nominating & Leadership Development Committee is a dedicated group of individuals elected to present nominations for positions on the Board of Directors and the NLDC. Current members are Diane Alves, James Howard, Sandy Curl, Delena Doyle, Sheri Grinstead, Helena Ryan, Jennifer Barbee and Cindy Chilton-Moore.
