2023 Halter Million pays out $1.4 million in cash during premier competition

Exhibitors cashed in on more than $1.4 million in cash at the 2023 APHA/WCHA Halter Million. A joint venture between APHA and the World Conformation Horse Association, the 2023 Halter Million took place September 23-October 1 in Fort Worth, Texas.

The premier halter competition offered APHA world championship and Breeders’ Futurity Gold & Platinum events, along with WCHA Breeders’ Championship, Big Money and Yellow Rose all-breed futurities.

2023 Halter MillionHighlights of the 2023 Halter Million include:

  • 493 total horses
  • 2,427 total entries
  • 2% growth in APHA Breeders’ Futurity class entries
  • 2% growth in WCHA all-breed class entries
  • 56 APHA world championship classes
  • 20 APHA Breeders’ Futurity classes
  • 39 WCHA classes
  • More than $1.4 million in cumulative cash payouts
  • $330,850 payout in APHA Platinum Breeders’ Futurity classes — new record!
  • $109,941 payout in APHA Gold Breeders’ Futurity classes — new record!
