The 2024 APHA/WCHA Halter Million features $1.4 million in cash and prizes, along with 56 APHA world championship opportunities:

  • 14 Open world championship halter classes
  • 8 Open Solid Paint-Bred world championship halter classes
  • 14 Amateur world championship halter classes
  • 8 Amateur Solid Paint-Bred world championship halter classes
  • 10 Youth world championship halter classes
  • 2 Youth Solid Paint-Bred world championship halter classes

PLUS:

  • Intermediate Exhibitor recognition in 17 classes

    • Buckles to the champion and reserve winners, courtesy Boehringer Ingelheim, and prizes to the Top Five Intermediates
  • 20 APHA Breeders’ Futurity championships, featuring $22,000 added (collectively)

  • $20,000 Breeders Halter Futurity Bonus Payout

    • A total of $20,000 will be paid out to the high-placing weanling foals that show in the 2024 Breeders Halter Futurity in Des Moines, Iowa, and an APHA Amateur weanling world championship class at the 2024 APHA/WCHA Halter Million. Jointly sponsored by APHA and The Breeders Halter Futurity.
  • $1,250 in scholarships awarded in each Youth world championship class

    • 1st–3rd plus one randomly selected exhibitor
  • 5 Special Awards

    • Pretty Versital Memorial Award: presented to the world champion in Youth Aged Mares, courtesy Burns Skyview Ranch
    • Scarlet Print Award: presented to the Regular Registry mare that wins world championships in Youth, Amateur and Open classes in a single year, courtesy the Jerry Engle Family
    • Leading Breeder Award: presented to the breeder whose horses earn the most points by placing in the Top 10 of all APHA world championship classes at the Halter Million.
    • Leading Owner Award: presented to the owner whose horses earn the most points by placing in the Top 10 of all APHA world championship classes at the Halter Million.
    • Leading Owner/Breeder/Exhibitor Award: presented to the individual exhibitor who earns the most points with horses they own, bred and show, based on Top 10 placings in all APHA world championship classes at the Halter Million. Declare your eligibility by September 20 for this award!
  • WCHA Breeders Championship & Big Money Halter Futurity all-breed halter competition
