Prior to coming to the 2026 APHA World Show, Lookn Like Trouble had captured five wins in five elite futurity events. In Fort Worth for the premier Paint event, the 2023 sorrel overo mare added another title and $10,501 to her tally, scoring a win in the Breeders’ Trust 3-Year-Old Western Pleasure Stakes on June 27. With Angie Cannizzaro in the saddle, “Mya” topped the judges’ cards in the show’s elite Western pleasure added-money event, which paid a total of $56,000.

Former owner Nancy Ditty sent Mya to Julie Voge of Whitesboro, Texas, in preparation for a yearling sale. From the first time Julie saw the mare, she knew Mya was special.

“I called my husband and said, ‘You’ve got to come look at this horse that just got here,’ ” Julie said. “We just fell in love with her and made a deal with Nancy, and the rest is history. We didn’t know how she was going to go under saddle, but we knew we liked her on the longe line.”

No Trouble

Angie was tapped to train and show the talented mare.

“This horse is perfect,” Angie said. “She’s a life-changing animal for Charles and I and the Voges. She’s undefeated thus far in her career. She’s just such a special animal and has so much presence. She’s confident and happy all of the time. The one job that she loves to do is the Western pleasure. She doesn’t want to go fast. She’s just a wonderful animal, and I can’t say enough good about her.”

With ears up and a never-in-a-hurry attitude, Mya is a natural and makes her job look easy. Angie kept her strategy simple for the Breeders’ Trust class.

“I told myself I wasn’t getting nervous at all because she doesn’t owe us anything at all anymore. I’m just going to focus on enjoying the rides,” Angie said.

Justin Voge added two more wins to Mya’s record at the World Show as well. He won the Non-Pro 3-Year-Old Western Pleasure Sweepstakes on June 28 and the Non-Pro Breeders’ Trust 3-Year-Old Western Pleasure Stakes on June 29.

Mya is sired by Breeders’ Trust-subscribed stallion Hay Goodlookn (QH) and out of Troubles A Blazin (QH). The decision to take a shot at the Breeders’ Trust Stakes purses was easy, Angie says.

“I love coming here. The people are so nice, it pays so well, it’s a great facility and in a wonderful town,” Angie said. “It was a no-brainer. This is one of the biggest checks I’ve won on her. She’s such a special animal.”
