Too Hottish Tohandle wins SHTX high-point Paint award

Following an outstanding year competing in Stock Horse of Texas shows, Too Hottish Tohandle was named the SHTX high-point Paint for 2025. The award is presented jointly by APHA and Stock Horse of Texas in an effort to recognize top Paint Horses and expand incentives to own, breed and show Paints. The award was presented to owner/exhibitor Amy Leonard at the SHTX year-end champion banquet, which took place March 7 in Bryan, Texas.

Too Hottish Tohandle is a 2020 chestnut overo gelding by SF Hottish Lumi Cat (QH) and out of Hot Little Bobcat (QH). He is owned by Amy and was bred by Linda Fielhaber of Jacksonville, Texas.

In addition to recognizing the high-point Paint Horse each year, Stock Horse of Texas also offers APHA’s Chrome Cash program at its World Finals. The incentive program is run as a class within a class, and rewards participating Paints with added-money sidepots based on top placings.

“Congratulations to Too Hottish Tohandle and Amy Leonard on earning the 2025 SHTX High-Point Paint Horse title—an impressive achievement that highlights their talent and versatility,” APHA Senior Manager of Chrome Cash Sunny Bates said. “We’re proud that APHA’s Chrome Cash program adds value for exhibitors at SHTX and other Western performance events—with more than $1.6 million awarded in Chrome Cash last year, it pays to be Paint. We look forward to seeing even more Paints competing this year and taking advantage of these opportunities from APHA and SHTX.”
