Chrome Cash pays over $17,600 at the 2026 NRCHA Celebration of Champions

More than 50 entries vied for $17,640 in Chrome Cash at the 2026 NRCHA Celebration of Champions. Paint Horses Painted Shadows, SJR Sumkinda Mist and Scooters Tuff Spot rode away with the lion’s share of payouts in their respective Open, Non-Pro and Non-Pro Boxing classes—each winning both the Chrome Cash and overall titles. Chrome Cash is a class-within-a-class incentive for APHA horses.

Tucker Robinson & Smooth Outta Style

Also making strides at the 2026 NRCHA Celebration of Champions was Smooth Outta Style, who ended up third overall in the 2026 Worlds Greatest Horseman finals with Tucker Robinson. The pair earned $45,000 for their finish. Smooth Outta Style is a 2017 sorrel overo gelding by Smooth Talkin Style and out of Dualin Curly Pep (QH); he’s owned by Julie Weinhardt and F. Velazquez of San Juan Bautista, California.

  • Champion: Myles Brown & Painted Shadows (pictured above), a 2022 sorrel overo stallion by Scooter Kat (QH) x Miss Scarlets Cat (QH), owned by Hall Brown LLC, Sinnett, Texas—$3,972 Chrome Cash
  • Reserve: Boyd Rice & Halreycious Rebel, a 2021 red roan solid stallion by Metallic Rebel x CR A Little Peek (QH), owned by Robert Grieve, Buffalo, Wyoming—$3,310 Chrome Cash

 Non-Pro Chrome Cash

Payouts to two; winners are:

  • Champion: Debbie Crafton & SJR Sumkinda Mist, a 2021 sorrel overo mare by SJR Diamond Mist (QH) x Sumkinda Pinkcadilac (QH), owned by Debbie Crafton, Ordway, Colorado—$1,278 Chrome Cash
  • Reserve: Paris Starn & Rascal Rey, a 2021 red roan solid stallion by Stevie Rey Von x Reysin Autumn (QH), owned by Paris & Clayton Williams, Litchfield Park, Arizona—$852 Chrome Cash

Payouts to four; top winners are:

  • Champion: Emily Kirchenschlager & Scooters Tuff Spot, a 2021 sorrel overo mare by Scooter Kat (QH) x Woodya (QH), owned by Emily Kirchenschlager, Whitesboro, Texas—$1,135 Chrome Cash
  • Reserve: Lindsay Foreman & Will Kane, a 2020 sorrel tobiano gelding by WR This Cats Smart (QH) x Dueling Chic Olena, owned by Dave Belson, Cave Creek, Arizona—$681 Chrome Cash
