Horse: Rockin The Impulse—$3,923.37 in Paynt Points cash

Katherine Spratt of Homosassa, Florida, owns this 2016 chestnut overo mare by MDR Impulsive and out of Rockys Poco Sue. Kate competes in Amateur and Novice Amateur classes; the pair earned 297 eligible points in the first half of 2025, netting a Paynt Points payout of almost $4,000.

“After finishing 2024 as the No.2 Amateur Walk-Trot team with Rockin The Impulse, I had worked tirelessly to prepare for the Novice and Amateur divisions. That meant moving from the top of my game to starting over—and with my trainer sidelined for six months, the road ahead looked even steeper. My expectations for the program were, understandably, quite low,” Kate said. “I created a spreadsheet tracking exhibitor pay-ins versus possible payouts. My goal became simple: earn enough points to cover the $2-per-judge fee and consider the rest a bonus. I braced for a modest return. Instead, the payout came to just over $3,900—I was more than surprised. Not only did the payout exceed my expectations, but it’s also putting the next few shows within easy reach.

“Together, we’ve earned points at a variety of large and small shows throughout Zone 9. It’s important to remember that shows of all sizes have points; it’s not just the big shows that are profitable. My experience has left me far more optimistic about the Paynt Points program. Like any new initiative, there’s room for fine-tuning, but the core mission—rewarding and incentivizing exhibitors for their participation—is a strong one worth building on.”

Owner: Amanda Marie Boal-Bennett—$4,986.79 in Paynt Points cash

Kendall & Ami Boal-Bennett with One Lazy Cowboy

Ami, a horsewoman from Rhome, Texas, had four eligible point-earning Paints in the first half of 2025, netting her a payout of almost $5,000. They included:

  • She Sails, a 2024 sorrel solid mare by Sail On Sailor Too and out of Fearfull (QH)
  • Sensational Effect, a 2007 chestnut overo mare by Zippos Sensation and out of Ms Special Effects (QH)
  • Hes All Inclusive, a 2022 sorrel solid gelding by My Intention (QH) and out of B BS Prissie Girl
  • One Lazy Cowboy, a 2013 bay overo gelding by Lazy Loper (QH) and out of Onesensationalcowgirl
    • He was the second-highest earning horse for the first set of Paynt Points payouts, earning 275.5 eligible points.

Ami and her family moved to Texas about a year ago, coming from Washington State. The draw of closer horse shows was attractive, she says. Ami shows in Amateur and Amateur Walk-Trot classes, and daughter Kendall shows in Youth halter and Youth Walk-Trot classes.

“It was exciting to hear our payout would be nearly $5,000 after only the first half of the year. The points certainly add up fast when we are both doing the all-around classes plus showing halter horses,” Ami said. “We will be putting our Paynt points payout back into our horse-show fund. This year, we plan to expand outside of Texas to the [Western] National Show in Vegas and another Paint show in Ocala at the end of the year. We are big fans of the Paynt Points program and hope that it will encourage more exhibitors to try showing Paints and attend more shows.”
