PBRIP enrollment fees eliminated in 2025

PBRIP enrollment fees eliminated in 2025

Effective immediately, the Paint Barrel Racing Incentive Program $39 enrollment fee is eliminated. This means PBRIP exhibitors no longer need to pay the annual enrollment fee to participate in APHA’s exclusive barrel racing incentive program—a current APHA membership and a fast Paint Horse are all you need to join in and earn cash!

PBRIP paid out nearly $150,000 in 2024, including more than $63,000 for the PBRIP Sweepstakes at the 2024 APHA World Championship Show. PBRIP events take place around the country; find events near you at pbrip.com.

Participate in PBRIP

  1. Ride a Paint Horse.

Any registered Paint Horse can participate in PBRIP events. Make sure your horse’s ownership is updated with APHA!

  1. Purchase your APHA Membership.

The exhibitor and the horse owner (if different) must have a current APHA membership before you are eligible for PBRIP.

  1. Compete for PBRIP Horse of the Year & Cash Awards.

PBRIP Horse of the Year is awarded to the Paint that earns the most money from all approved PBRIP events during the competition year. The winning owner receives a custom trophy buckle and cash bonus. PBRIP sidepots are offered and distributed by individual event producers.

Remember

  • No World Show qualification is required to compete in any event, including the PBRIP Sweepstakes. The World Show pre-entry deadline is May 15, but entries are accepted until 5 p.m. the day before the event. More info: apha.com/worldshow
  • To be eligible for the PBRIP Sweepstakes Futurity, horses cannot compete or earn money before November 15 prior to their futurity year (for the 2025 PBRIP Futurity, that is November 15, 2024).
