$1.3M in Chrome Cash paid out to Paints in 2024
Chrome Cash payouts exceeded $1.3 million in 2024, setting a new payout record in its fifth year. This innovative incentive program from APHA provides Paint-exclusive sidepots for participating APHA-registered horses at select performance horse competitions, traditional all-around shows and international events.
Total Chrome Cash payouts in 2024 were $1,366,595 with 4,844 total entries recorded. This represents a 35 percent increase in total payouts and a 43 percent increase in total entries in 2024 when compared to 2023 totals.
In 2024, Paints topped a number of major championships that offered Chrome Cash bonuses. Among those elite APHA champions were 2024 NCHA Futurity winners Smart Look Arising and Poccahontas, and 2024 NRHA Futurity champions Mr Fireman and Wish I Was Yours.
APHA provides some direct funding for participating international and traditional all-around events. Performance horse Chrome Cash events, however, are fully self-funded from sponsors and participating horses’ entry fees. Those include sidepots offered at events hosted by the National Cutting Horse Association, National Reining Horse Association, National Reined Cow Horse Association, American Rope Horse Futurity Association and Stock Horse of Texas. All APHA-registered horses are invited and encouraged to participate in Chrome Cash, which helps add even more value to Paint Horse performers.
