Paints cashed in at the 2024 APHA/WCHA Halter Million

Cash rained at the 2024 APHA/WCHA Halter Million, where more than $1.4 million in payouts and prizes was awarded to exhibitors. The Halter Million is a joint venture between APHA and the World Conformation Horse Association and took place September 21-29 in Fort Worth, Texas.

The premier halter competition offered APHA world championship and Breeders’ Futurity Gold & Platinum events, along with WCHA Breeders’ Championship and Big Money all-breed futurities.

“With over $1.4 million in cash and prizes awarded, this year’s Halter Million showcased the remarkable talent of halter horses and exhibitors from across the United States and Canada,” Senior Director of APHA Events Holly Slaughter said. “This event truly solidifies its status as one of the world’s premier halter horse competitions. We are excited to continue building on this momentum and see what the future holds.”

  • 466 total horses
  • 2,333 total entries
  • 56 APHA world championship classes
  • 20 APHA Breeders’ Futurity classes
  • 41 WCHA classes
  • 2.6% growth in APHA world championship class entries
  • 37 Platinum Breeders’ Futurity participating sires
  • More than $1.4 million in cash and prizes
  • $320,940 payout in Platinum Breeders’ Futurity classes
  • $109,671 payout in Gold Breeders’ Futurity classes
  • $20,000 payout in the APHA/Breeders Halter Futurity Bonus
  • $9,000 in Youth world championship class scholarships
  • 131 APHA horseIQ Collegiate & Youth Horse Judging contestants
