Markel/APHA Professional Horsemen recognized at 2024 Halter Million

Markel/APHA Professional Horsemen took center stage at the 2024 APHA/WCHA Halter Million, September 21-29 in Fort Worth, Texas. In addition to serving as APHA ambassadors, these dedicated professionals also earned their own accolades as some of the competition’s top exhibitors.

The Markel/APHA Professional Horsemen program recognizes equine professionals who encourage professionalism, integrity and fairness throughout the equine community. These professionals represent APHA in a positive light, and pledge to follow a Code of Ethics.

“I think it’s a really cool program,” Corina Holman said about the Professional Horsemen program; she competed at the 2024 Halter Million alongside her husband and fellow Professional Horseman, Joe. “When you go to a Paint show, they know that you’re there [as a Professional Horseman] and people know they can ask for help. Going to your first horse show is scary; we need to open up and be more welcoming to people. This is a family to us, it’s like a reunion every time we come to a horse show. I love getting more people involved and feeling more comfortable and welcomed.”
