Chrome Buckle bonus pays nearly $4K to Pink Buckle Paints
Sixteen Paints took their shot at almost $4,000 in the Chrome Buckle powered by PBRIP, hosted at the 2024 Pink Buckle Barrel Race October 6֪–13 in Guthrie, Oklahoma. More than $4 million total was paid out at the Pink Buckle this year. The Chrome Buckle Powered by PBRIP sidepot was a 4D payout based on two runs combined on full-second splits.
Amy Hunter of Neola, Utah, and Slick Designed Star (pictured at top) earned the PBRIP Chrome Buckle 1D average championship with a 34.686 and brought home a check of $1,182. Owned by Amy, Slick Designed Star is a 2016 black solid mare by Slick By Design (QH) and out of Surely Shes A Star.
The 2D average champions were Brittan Dee Hill and Fate Aligns, who took home $709 with a 36.187. Owned by Jennifer Hill of Sulphur Springs, Texas, Fate Aligns is a 2020 bay solid mare by As Good As Nick Gets and out of Stars Align (QH).
“Our APHA members can now run for even more money at the Pink Buckle just because they own a registered Paint,” Director of Racing & PBRIP Carly Peercy said. “Thank you to the Pink Buckle family for this opportunity. It’s a great time to own a Paint Horse!”
