Repeat winners top Breeders’ Trust charts again in 2023

Familiar faces Zippos Sensation and Call Me A Cowboy headlined the 2023 APHA Breeders’ Trust lists.

Zippos Sensation once again returns to the top of the annual Breeders’ Trust Leading Sires chart, claiming the No. 1 spot for the 23rd consecutive year. His foals continue to dominate in APHA competition, even after the stallion’s own passing in 2016.

Call Me A Cowboy earned his second consecutive Breeders’ Trust Leading Earner award; he also led the Top 20 Masters Amateur chart for 2023 for a third year with exhibitor Jamie Ross. In 2023, the tobiano gelding earned 687 total points, worth $6,009.05 in Breeders’ Trust payouts.

Per-point cash value increased in 2023. Participating horses’ Amateur and Open points were each worth $8.74 for Breeders’ Trust payouts.

New this year, U.S. Breeders’ Trust payouts will be processed through U.S. Bank Payee Choice. This platform allows individuals to choose their preferred payout method and streamlines distribution. Payout recipients will receive an email from APHA later this week with more information about how to set up a Payee Choice account. International recipients will receive a separate email explaining their payout process and options.

APHA Breeders’ Trust celebrates its 30th anniversary in 2024. Learn more about how to participate at apha.com/showing/breederstrust.
