Rodeo Short Go & Brandie Inman win the 2023 PBRIP year-end championship
Rodeo Short Go and owner Brandie Inman of Nowata, Oklahoma, culminated their 2023 season as APHA’s 2023 PBRIP year-end champion. In addition to being the Paint Barrel Racing Incentive Program’s highest total point earner last year, Inman and Rodeo Short Go also claimed the PBRIP 1D championship.
Rodeo Short Go, nicknamed “Maverick,” is a 2016 sorrel solid gelding by Badgers Rodeo Red (QH) and out of Thiskittycanpurr. Owned by Inman, he was bred by Shane Wells of Chelsea, Oklahoma.
“I’m so happy for Maverick,” Inman said. “When I bought him, he had gate issues and would rear up and refuse to go in, but after several months of training, he got over it and is now eager to run. He always tries his best and never disappoints me. If we have a bad run, it’s usually my fault. I truly believe that I’m ‘his person,’ and he would do anything I ask. Thanks to the PBRIP for this amazing incentive program.”
PBRIP is an incentive program that provides sidepots for participating Paint barrel racers at events around the country. It bridges the gap between barrel racers who run Paints and APHA by making it easier for them to participate in the organization without having to attend traditional breed shows.
To celebrate her PBRIP high-point championship, Inman receives a Gist Silversmiths trophy buckle. She and other PBRIP winners will be honored July 6 at the Will Rogers Memorial Center in Fort Worth, Texas, during the PBRIP Barrel Racing Sweepstakes awards presentation at the APHA World Championship Show.
