APHA stallions Trillions and Execute are the leading sires of the 2023 APHA Breeders’ Futurity Gold and Platinum divisions, respectively. The awards were presented September 29 at the 2023 APHA/WCHA Halter Million in Fort Worth, Texas, after analysis all results from the Breeders’ Futurity classes taking place at the 2023 APHA World Championship Show and the Halter Million.
2023 Leading Sire—Gold Breeders’ Futurity
Trillions, a 2017 sorrel overo stallion owned by Jim and Georgia Snow (pictured here, in center) of Quinlan, Texas, was the leading sire of the Gold Breeders’ Futurity earners in 2023. Six of his foals won a combined $16,562 in the Gold classes at the Halter Million. Fittingly, Trillions himself won the Gold Yearling Stallions Breeders’ Futurity class at the 2018 APHA World Show.
His highest-earning foal this year was Shes One Ina Trillion, a 2022 sorrel solid mare. She is owned by Beverly Koke of Bonita Springs, Florida, and was bred by Jason Smith of Whitesboro, Texas. Shes One Ina Trillion won the Gold Yearling Mares class and an impressive $4,454 payout with Koke at the lead.
2023 Leading Sire—Platinum Breeders’ Futurity
Execute, a 2004 sorrel overo stallion owned by Carolyn C. Stewart of Ramona, Oklahoma, was the leading sire of Platinum Breeders’ Futurity earners in 2023. This represents his fourth consecutive year to earn the title. Carolyn’s daughter, Cara, along with Cara’s husband Trevor and trainer Anna Horn (all pictured at top, left center) accepted the award.
Nine foals by Execute won a combined $58,357 in Platinum Breeders’ Futurity classes this year. His highest-earning foal in the Platinum Division was KR Kracker Jack, a 2023 sorrel overo stallion owned by Brian Ellsworth of Kendall, Wisconsin, and bred by Terry and Anastasia Kull of Pilot Point, Texas. KR Kracker Jack won the Platinum Non-Pro Weanling Stallions class with Patricia Ellsworth and took home an impressive $12,688 payout.
