APHA World Show added-money classes grow by more than 30% in 2023

APHA World Championship Show added-money classes—including Breeders’ Futurity and Paint-specific challenge and sweepstakes events—grew by more than 30 percent in 2023. That’s just part of the huge participation gains showcased at the 2023 APHA World Championship Show, which took place June 23-July 9 in Fort Worth, Texas.

Breeders’ Futurity

  • 34% increase in entries
  • $101,000 awarded
  • 12 Gold Breeders’ Futurity classes
  • 139 entries
  • Largest Gold Breeders’ Futurity purse: $18,185 Gold Western Yearling Longe Line (25 entries)

Paint-Specific Added-Money Classes

  • 82 Challenge, Sweepstakes, Breeders’ Trust Pleasure Stakes, Sidepot & Jackpot classes
  • 38% increase in entries
  • More than $531,000 awarded

As a whole, the 2023 APHA World Show featured increases in total horses, total entries and total payouts, among other achievements.
