All-breed ancillary events contribute to 2023 APHA World Show gains

A number of ancillary all-breed events helped grow the 2023 APHA World Championship Show numbers, including total horses and total entries. That’s important because it helps increase the total payouts and awards available to APHA members and horses by offsetting show-production costs. Check out some of the most impressive gains in these events!

Ranch Horse Triple Crown Challenge

  • Second year of the event
  • 41% increase in Open and Non-Pro entries
  • NEW Youth division added with 118 more entries in three classes and $19,000 in scholarship awards
  • More than $145,000 payout plus an additional $45,000 in RHTCC stallion incentive payouts

International Ranch Horse Association — New for 2023

  • 9 IRHA world championship classes offered
  • 168 entries
  • $27,364 payout plus $9,000 awarded in Youth scholarships

American Rope Horse Futurity Association Cowtown Classic — New for 2023

  • 266 horses
  • 418 entries
  • $200,900 payout

NRHA Cowtown Classic presented by Tenda Horse Products & Farmpaint.com

  • 17% increase
  • $172,502 total payout overall
    • $156,973 Paint-specific payout
    • $15,529 NRHA all-breed payout

The APHA World Championship Show took place June 23-July 9, 2023, at Will Rogers Memorial Center in Fort Worth, Texas. The event featured nearly 1,200 horses, a nine percent increase in total horses and 24 percent increase in total entries, and more than $1.4 million awarded in cash and prizes.
