The Event
The Youth Team Tournament consists of three components and a grand finale finals competition. Events include: 1) Scavenger Hunt, 2) Relay Race and 3) TikTok Video Challenge.
The Scavenger Hunt
- Contestants will be integrated into a mixed team that will search for scavenger hunt clues around the Will Rogers Memorial Center grounds.
- A list of location hints will be provided. Each group will document their location discovery with a picture of all six members at that location.
- Contestants will answer a question at each location.
- This is a timed activity and will be scored based on the number of locations and questions successfully identified in the fastest time. Scoring is first based on the number of correct answers, followed by the time in which it was achieved.
- Teams will be placed, with points awarded based on the overall point system. Points earned by mixed-team members will be applied to their original team.
The Relay Race
- Teams will compete in the Relay Race, a timed event that incorporates team-building challenges.
- Teams will be placed on the fastest course-completion time, with points awarded based on the overall point system.
The Tik Tok Challenge
- Each team will randomly draw the name of a person affiliated with the APHA World Show (trainer, staff, vendor, sponsor, exhibitor, etc.) and receive contact information for that person, who will be available and on the grounds.
- The team will conduct a video interview with their assigned individual and will compose a video 1-2 minutes in length.
- Videos will be judged on creativity, inclusivity of all team members, and promotion/awareness of APHA and that individual’s role.
- All videos will be placed, with points awarded based on the overall point system.
