Broodmare & Foal Care added to horseIQ online learning platform

“Broodmare & Foal Care” is the newest course in the horseIQ.com lineup. It shares the ins and outs of breeding and foaling on APHA’s interactive learning platform.

The course is a joint partnership between APHA, Texas A&M AgriLife Extension, Valley Vet Supply and the Paint Horse Journal. The Broodmare & Foal Care course explains what to expect when breeding your mare, the logistics of managing breeding stock, and how to care for your mare and foal during pregnancy, foaling and nursing.

“The mission of horseIQ to ‘strengthen our horsemanship by working together’ speaks to the importance of partnerships and aligns with the mission of Texas A&M AgriLife Extension to educate and provide service,” said Dr. Jennifer Zoller, extension horse specialist with Texas A&M AgriLife Extension. “We are delighted to partner with horseIQ to bring applicable and accurate information about broodmare and foal management to the fingertips of horse owners.”

Join or log in at horseIQ.com and click on “Courses” to get started.

New topics are added frequently, and you’ll find other lessons detailing specific classes, scribing, show management and more at horseIQ.com.
